Geometries
• N12: Universal chip breaker for general countersink operations in most materials.
• N13: Broad, positive chip breaker with sharp cutting edge, for countersinking aluminium and
non-ferrous metals. Produces a soft cut.
• N14: Broad, positive chip breaker with rounded cutting edge, for countersinking in steel to about
800 N/mm2. Produces a soft cut.
• L16: Ground chip breaker with 0° angle of cut for countersinking in long-chipping materials.
Produces short chips.
Carbide and cermet grades
• DX6: Uncoated multiple-range type, mainly for steel, also for interrupted cuts.
• CH1: Uncoated multiple-range type, mainly for cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
• PMK92: TiAlN-coated type, especially for steel.
• KM22: TiAlN-coated type, especially for cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
• CT50: Uncoated Cermet type for finish machining in steel, stainless steels, cast iron and non-
ferrous metals.
